The Aug. TT started with the potential of being a good one. Very little wind, warm but humid. Just before the start there was a small rumble of thunder. Just before the levee coming into Lock Haven, a localized thunderstorm with strong head winds hit. It made for very tough going the ½ mile before the turn around. But OH, after the turn around, we were FLYING!!! It was scary bike handling on TT bikes with the wind blowing you on the bike. Disc wheels were particularly scary. But it made for very fast times if you stayed up and on the bike…right Christine?
SVVC Aug. Time Trial
850 , humid, about 1-2 mph wind from WNW made for hardly any head wind going out. Then 25 mph wind from W – WSW with rain (and hail, right Christine?) for very strong head wind last ½ mile coming into Lock Haven and significant tail wind going back.

** Christine, questioning why the rest of us didn’t have a healthy respect for lightning, was last seen hunkered down in the fetal position in a roadside ditch, her steel framed bike safely thrown 100 ft. away. She also reported being pelted by hail (though none of the rest of us felt any hail…interesting).
For info I think the course record is 21:31 by Mark Dontigny.
